Account Deletion Inquiries

Delete account requests

Please document any and all processes done to accommodate this request. EU authorities have noted a rise in what they call “privacy trolls.” These are individuals who make a request similar to the one we received and then later test whether their request was completed and whether any trace of their data remains.  After CA’s CCPA was adopted, CA privacy lawyers began sending “private-right-of-action threat letters for technical non-compliance.

In privacy “friendly” jurisdictions like the EU, CA and CO, these individuals then demand a settlement to not file a lawsuit or class action.

Technically, since we are a data processor (in this case) there isn’t a statutory timeline for us to respond – that belongs to the data controller (venue). I do think as we move forward we should send a standard response within 72 hours and accommodate the request within a week. I also recommend responding to the person with the following message:

Thank you for contacting True Tickets regarding your personal data.

True Tickets acts as a Data Processor  for  <Venue Name>, which means we process personal information on their behalf and under their direction. We do not independently determine how your data is used or retained.

To complete your request — such as access, deletion, or correction of personal data — please contact <Venue Name> directly, since they control and maintain the customer records associated with your ticket purchase.

Once <Venue Name> has processed and executed your request, you will no longer be able to access your digital ticket wallet or any related event history.

If you’d like to learn more about how True Tickets handles personal information, please visit our Privacy Policy at https://www.true-tickets.com/privacy-policy

Best,
